Waterbox Method Freshwater Planted

Step 1: Biological
Establishing a healthy nitrogen cycle is important when starting an aquarium. Adding Starter Bacteria will decrease the time to establish the nitrifying bacteria needed to remove ammonia and nitrite making it safe for aquarium inhabitants.
Freshwater Starter Bacteria: A concentrated blend of specially selected nitrifying bacteria designed to rapidly establish a healthy biological filter in new freshwater aquariums. These beneficial microbes quickly colonize your filter media and substrate, converting harmful ammonia and nitrite into less toxic nitrate—making your tank safe for fish faster.
Ceramic Rings: Ceramic rings are a highly porous bio-filtration media that provides an optimal habitat for beneficial bacteria to thrive. The unique ring shape allows for maximum water flow, ensuring efficient removal of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate from your aquarium.

Step 2: Water Treatment
Tap water contains chlorine and heavy metals that can harm fish, invertebrates, plants, and beneficial bacteria in your aquarium. Always use a water conditioner when adding water to your aquarium or introducing new fish to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
Conditioner: Removes chlorine and neutralizes heavy metals from tap water instantly to make safe for use in aquarium. Protects and replaces fish's slime coating.
Water Clarifier: Water Clarifier is a powerful yet gentle water clarifier formulated specifically for freshwater and planted aquariums. This advanced formula binds fine particles—such as debris, algae, and detritus—causing them to clump together for easy removal through mechanical filtration. Within hours, cloudy water transforms into a sparkling clear display.

Step 3: Filtration
Waterbox Aquariums filter media includes carbon and phosphate media. Both are an important part of maintaining a clean and healthy freshwater aquarium.
Phosphate Media: Filter media to absorb phosphates in freshwater aquariums. Elevated phosphate levels can lead to unwanted algae growth. Maintaining phosphate levels within the correct range, along with phosphate media, will result in a cleaner and healthier aquarium. Replace phosphate media when levels increase above 2.0 ppm.
Carbon Media: Carbon designed to remove undesired chemicals in freshwater or planted aquariums. Carbon removes discoloration of the water, odors, general contaminants, toxins, and dissolved organics. Replace Carbon Media monthly.

Step 4: Dosing
Dosing a freshwater aquarium is essential for maintaining a healthy and vibrant ecosystem, particularly with live plants.
Carbon +: Provides a highly absorbable carbon source for planted aquariums. Proper carbon levels promotes the growth and vibrant color of live plants while reducing nuisance algae.
Micro Elements: A premium liquid fertilizer enriched with essential trace elements carefully formulated to support healthy growth, rich coloration, and overall vitality in freshwater planted aquariums. These micro nutrients play a critical role in photosynthesis, enzyme function, and cellular development, making them indispensable for long-term plant health.
Macro Elements: Waterbox Macro Elements delivers the core nutrients that power fast, strong development of stems, leaves, and roots. By supporting photosynthesis and metabolic function, it accelerates growth and enhances natural coloration, helping plants reach their full potential in both high-tech and low-tech freshwater setups.

Step 5: Fish Health
Supplementing fish diet with essential multivitamins and additives enhance the health and vitality of both saltwater and freshwater fish.
Fish Amino: Fish Amino is a high-quality amino acid supplement designed to enhance the diet of all marine and freshwater fish. Formulated to improve coloration, support immune health, and promote optimal growth, this concentrated additive delivers the essential building blocks your fish need to thrive.
Garlic: Garlic is a garlic-enriched, Omega-3 and fish oil fish food supplement designed to stimulate appetite, strengthen immune function, and support the overall health of marine and freshwater fish. Garlic has long been trusted by aquarists to encourage feeding—even in finicky, stressed, or newly introduced fish.

Step 6: Water Changes
Water changes are essential in maintaining a healthy aquarium environment, primarily because they help to remove harmful toxins such as ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates, which accumulate over time from fish waste, uneaten food, and plant debris. These toxins can become lethal to fish and other aquatic organisms if allowed to build up to high levels.
Additionally, water changes replenish essential minerals and maintain stable water parameters, ensuring a balanced ecosystem for aquatic life. By diluting pollutants and refreshing the water's chemistry, regular water changes support the overall health, growth, and well-being of the aquarium inhabitants, preventing stress and disease outbreaks.
